Optimizing Flock Performance and Regulating Ammonia Levels

According to the Census of Agriculture, there are over 230,000 poultry farms in the United States alone (nuggets, anyone?) Demand is increasing, but optimizing flock performance is difficult. In addition to food, disease prevention, and clean cages, flocks depend on adequate ventilation and stable temperatures throughout the year to yield best results. Fuel costs are variable and always on the rise, making business forecasting even harder. Producers with the most consistent flocks, reap the greatest rewards.

The risks of ammonia are known and well-documented. The challenge for producers is, existing electrical chemical sensors alone don’t provide consistent results. There isn’t a technology on the market that provides a long-term solution for real-time ammonia monitoring, thus optimizing flock performance, and reducing fuel costs for producers. Calyx has created a custom sensor to do exactly that.

Calyx has developed a new solution. We believe the results will be happy poultry, confident producers, and quality products. Calyx sensors are more cost effective, consistent, and durable than the competition. Our SenseCheck technology guarantees that your data is consistent no matter the conditions. Operators can adjust fans and ventilation in real time to keep the flock safe and conserve fuel. At a third of the cost, our no-calibration-needed sensors last longer and are highly selective, even in extreme environments.
